Recycled Sweater Snack Bag!

Recycled Sweater Snack Bag!

Hi everyone!

It has been awhile since my last post, and I promise an epic Ollie post is coming soon! Until then, I thought I’d share a little crafty idea I had been really wanting to try in order to save myself from my crazy consumption of yucky plastic Ziplock baggies. The idea is simple: reuse old clothing, or remnants of fabric and turn them into handy, dandy snack bags! The best part of them is, you are recycling and creating a reusable and durable cute snack accessory! :) Yay! Who knew helping save the earth could be so darn easy, and so much fun? I lined mine with food safe nylon, which makes them a little more waterproof for foods like grapes or apple slices. You also can wipe them clean, or throw them in with the rest of your wash!

I found lots of example bags on etsy, and had tons of fabric sitting around, so I was going to order one to use as a prototype by dissecting it, but instead I found a free step-by-step instructional guide (with photos) on wewilsons.blogspot.ca. So for all those crafty people out there, here is the link to the Reusable Snack Bag Tutorial! http://wewilsons.blogspot.ca/2009/02/reusable-snack-bag-tutorial.html

Enjoy and happy sewing!
